Phew! 2022!!!…I am not going to lie, this year DRAINED me! Looking back I realize that this year was meant to break me into pieces…but GOD said no. This Thanksgiving, I decided to focus on the people and things that matters the most…the people who bring me true joy. My friends recently hosted a Friendsgiving. I love that Friendsgiving is fast becoming a thing. I have never been to one so it was so nice to catch up with friends and let loose. We ate some good food, played some games and sang Karaoke off key just like old times. It was amazing.
For the fashion, the host asked that we wear a touch of brown. I looked in my closet and realized quickly that I do not have a lot of brown…so I ran to Amazon and bought a brown turtle neck (I hope yall aint sleeping on Amazon…they have amazing finds) which I paired with an old patent leather high waist black skirt from TJMaxx…I then added my Fendi Rockoko boots for an additional touch of brown…for a pop of brightness, I went with my gold Versace La Medusa Mini bag. I love that this bag can go from day to night as it doubles as a cross body and can be worn as a clutch with the straps removed. One pattern you will find with me is that I love to mix high end (mostly my accessories) with low end (mostly clothing..I do not like to repeat clothes so I for the most part I don’t like overspending on clothes). Remember that fashion is how you combine items. Enjoy the look and the pictures from Friendsgiving. For hair, I have a break from hosting Weddings so I had my local braider put my hair in a two cornrow braid. I host a lot of formal events which usually restricts my hair choices but whenever I have a break, I usually opt for simple protective styles like this. I honestly thought this style would last 2 weeks max but it is still holding up.
Anyhoo…I am off to go enjoy Thanksgiving with my family. This year we are going all American with the food…i.e no jollof rice for a change…(thank God…lol).
