I thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Bora Bora. Rewind to 10 years ago, we so badly wanted to go to Bora Bora for our honeymoon but the prices we saw were a real “gbas gbos”. We humbled ourselves “fasfas” and went to Cayman Islands “jejely”. Fast forward to 10 years later celebrating our 10th Wedding Anniversary and going there was far more affordable. The prices did not decrease. In fact it more than tripled. I was however reminded that we have come a very long way together. Hard work REALLY pays off. In planning our annual August trip and for our 10 year wedding anniversary, Bora Bora was a no brainer. I am so glad we chose this place because it is truly the most beautiful place I have ever seen (so far) in my entire life. It is breath taking. I am happy that I got to see it in my lifetime.
How to get there from Atlanta
At first I wanted us to use a travel agent. I did not want to risk getting lost on the other side of the world *I dont play that* My husband is very good at mapping locations so he figured it out on his own. First we had to fly 4 hours from Atlanta to Los Angeles. In LA, we connected to the French Polynesia using Air Tahiti. That was an 8 hour flight. We upgraded to first class at the airport. Cost a lot more but it was well worth it. We then landed in Papeete, Tahiti. I loved the warm welcome at the airport.
We had a 6 hour layover and spent a night at the Hilton Tahiti. We could have stayed at the airport for 6 hours but I did not come to this life to suffer please. The Hilton was surprisingly nice for an airport hotel.
The next morning, we took a one hour plane ride to Bora Bora using Air Tahiti. Upon landing in Bora Bora, we took a 15 minute boat ride to the beautiful Conrad Hilton Hotel. Yes…3 airplane rides and one boat ride.
I can say it took us roughly 24 hours to get there. If you know me, you know that I typically run away from far destinations as I find travel quite stressful in general plus I am a serial entrepreneur and taking time off my work and businesses is very hard for me.
Where to stay:
Why come all the way to Bora Bora and not experience the over water Bungalows??? In choosing a place to stay, we opted for a hotel with an over water bungalow because “who concrete epp”??? Conrad Bora Bora Nui was my first choice because I had seen a vlog of Paris Hilton (the owner) going there and it looked so beautiful. I absolutely recommend this hotel.
The customer service was out of this world. Talk about going above and beyond…I mean for the money we are paying I expected nothing less. The rooms were so beautiful and spacious. I am a germaphobe in general and typically always find something to complain about in hotels (much to the displeasure of my dear husband) but nothing irritated me about this place (that is a first).
This trip to Bora Bora was absolutely worth the distance. Now if you are looking for a turn up type of vacation with plenty “gra gra”, I would not recommend Bora Bora. It is super quiet. A sister could not even twerk in peace without being judged.lol. Think of it as a relaxing retreat that is full of Zen, peace and serenity. There were times there my hubby and I would just stare at the deep blue sea for hours talking.
FOOD
For food, we bought an all inclusive meal package upon arriving the resort. This covered breakfast, lunch and dinner at 5 different restaurants on the resort. It was an additional cost but I am all about that all inclusive life. I must hate the idea of swiping my bank card at each meal.lol. We did however pay additional costs for the floating breakfast experience though. Confession: I really loved breakfast. I was however not impressed with the lunch and dinner options. It was just aii.
LOOKS-#thefashionofthemic
Now lets get into the FASHIONNNNNNNNNN…You already know. I love to play dress up. Here are a few of my fave looks from this trip.
Loved this red two piece sourced from asos. I paired with mymetallic Hermes Oran slippers and green Hermes Constance. It was giving Christmas colors but I loved it.
Wore this beautiful lilac dress for a sunset dinner cruise with my hubby, I paired it with my Jimmy Choo Bon Bon purse.
Loved this swim cover up from one of my fave designers AdebyFemi. I paired it with a stripped bathing suit.
Loved this Anniversary Dinner Look. We opted for a black and white look.
Overall I am so glad that we were able to make this trip. Would I come ever come back to Bora Bora again? HECKKKK YESSSS!!! It is indeed the most beautiful place I have ever seen. I hope you enjoyed this trip through my eyes. Looking forward to our next adventure…UP NEXT—-Puerto Vallarta this December.
